Special Education Services at Cottonwood Day School

The Cottonwood Day School special education program supports all students with diverse abilities and learning requirements. We assist our Mountaineers with special needs throughout their educational experience with us. Students receive all necessary learning and testing accommodations. Our team empowers every student to reach their full potential by helping them excel mentally, physically, socially, and emotionally.

Cottonwood Day School’s dedicated specialists establish and promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Our special education curriculum is comprehensive and adaptable to meet the unique needs of its students. Early identification of developmental issues among students allows our team to be proactive when designing the best teaching and learning strategies.

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are created by a student’s teachers, parents/guardians, and specialists to ensure consistent progress. The most informed and knowledgeable teams are always assembled to monitor student achievements and difficulties. Any accommodations are applied to a student’s IEP and are evaluated for their effectiveness. The goal of our special education program is to aid students in their transition to independent learning.

Active parents and dedicated specialists are vital to the success of Cottonwood Day School’s special education program. We believe a strong partnership between parents and educators is key to the advancement of our students with special needs. Parent/guardian feedback, suggestions, and questions are always welcome because they are invaluable contributors to a student’s success.
